[sticky post] The Golden Bird Master List

The Master List Sticky Post. Kinky!

During the reign of a corrupt king, two old friends meet again one night in an upscale brothel. One is a pleasure-slave; the other, reluctant heir to the king's adviser. They find themselves trapped in a dangerous game of power and politics that will test their allegiances to both the coming revolution and to each other.

[Warnings for persistent themes of institutionalized slavery, forced prostitution, dub-con, non-con, angst, and abuse. Also, lots of sex. Consider yourself warned.]

You as well! I love your icon - who is that sexy beast?

I think the model is Noah Mills, but I am not completely sure.
The photographer was Rodolfo Martínez and you can see more of his works here:

I was debating whether or not to put this comment here, but I just wanted to thank you for adding me back and tell you that I absolutely adore your writing/blog in general. :)

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! That's wonderful to hear. I really appreciate it. :D

I've rarely been so affected by abuse in fiction... With this, I could feel it in my gut throughout. I felt nauseous at times and it left me with a big knot in my stomach!
Your writing is fantastic and the characters feel so real... Even though some of the situations are not really *new* it does feel very unique.
I'm glad I went ahead and read this, I'd seen it recommended before but was afraid of reading more of the same...
OK, enough gushing.
I'll say something -possibly constructive? Sorry if this is unwelcome anyway. Maybe it's just a pet peeve of mine, but "he released a breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding" (or similarly worded) feels so trite that it really caught my attention (I think you use it twice so far) and I feel it is unbecoming of the quality of your work.
Also sorry I'm commenting here, I read it over on AO3 but don't have an account!
THANKS A LOT FOR WRITING IT. And putting it up for us people to read :)

Re: Wow
I do that, actually. Release breaths I didn't know I was holding. Not a comment on anybody's work 'cause I'm just here to bookmark it to read later, but I read the comment and it made me go... Huh. I do that. When I'm worried about how something's going to turn out, I hold my breath without thinking about it then let it out in a big whoosh. Do it during football games all the time. Especially during field goals for the win... Just a random ass comment cause I had too much sugar. Yeah.

Re: Wow
Yes I guess you are right... To me it feels strange because I don't do that, but other people do! Haha, maybe one day I'll do it and be all "oh, so that's what people were writing about" :P

Re: Wow
I do that too! Possibly I've just read too much slash. XP

Re: Wow
THANKS A LOT FOR READING IT! I'm sorry for not replying sooner -- I just saw this comment in my inbox when Puck replied to it. Constructive criticism is always welcome, and you're right, that line is a little uncreative. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. It means the world to me. :)

I LOVE your writing so much. I've read TGB at least a dozen times. It's one of my all-time favorite stories. You're a fabulous writer. I'm glad to hear you're doing well and the story will go on :) quick question: will you be posting the next chapter on Archiveofourown as well? That's where I found it. No rush though...real life definitely comes first. Again, love your writing so much and now imma bookmark your blog. Looking forward to chapter 40 whenever you have the time ^^
